Cylinder Testing
Legislation in Europe requires that high and low pressure gas cylinders
are inspected and tested at regular intervals. It is a legal
requirement that this inspection and test can only be carried out by
organisations approved under the Transportable Pressure Equipment
Directive (TPED).
gcs is approved to undertake "In-Service Inspection" and “pi” marking of transportable pressure receptacles as a Type C Inspection
Body, accredited by UKAS to ISO/IEC 17020:1998 within the scope of the TPED.
The approval covers the following specifications:
- BS EN 1968:2002 + A2:2005 - seamless steel cylinders
- BS EN 1802:2002 - seamless aluminium cylinders
- BS EN 1803:2002 - welded steel cylinders
- BS EN 1SO 11623 - composite cylinders
- BS EN 14876:2007 - welded steel pressure drums
- EN 14189:2003, procedure A or B - cylinder valves
- GCS Op121 - seamless steel cylinder bundles
